As part of our module Project & Events Management, I organized a walking trail named Jalan Jalan for New Life Community Services and their seniors who lived around the Bukit Panjang neighbourhood. In this project, we were presented with the social issue of elderly social isolation by New Life and came up with the idea of organizing a walking trail to encourage seniors to socialize among themselves.
In this project, I was the organizer who oversaw the entire project operations from liaising with New Life to the execution of the event. Some activities include designing the promotional poster for Jalan Jalan and planning the walking route for the seniors. My team and I utilized various tools like organization structure to define the responsibilities of each person, Gantt Chart to work around deadlines, and RAMS to mitigate any risk that could potentially happen during the execution of Jalan Jalan. If you like to find out more about the tools utilized, you may click here. I also managed New Life's expectations and negotiated the deliverables of the project, resulting in us carrying out a walking trail event and a booklet that comprises the different facilities and assets around the Bukit Panjang neighbourhood.

In my opinion, this project did extremely well with over 60+ registrations and 40+ participants showing up. I also received feedback from the participants that they are willing to participate in another similar event in the near future. Our planning team also observed the participants actively engaging within themselves, achieving our goal of having the seniors engage with each other.
